Lecture description
MCS has been accompanying the evolution of the ceramic industry in a context marked by increasing environmental, regulatory, and market challenges. In this framework, and within the scope of the ECP agenda, several initiatives have been developed to promote a more efficient and sustainable use of mineral resources.
This presentation outlines the work carried out to support more responsible mining practices and smarter resource management, exploring how residues and by-products can be valorised and reintegrated into production cycles as secondary raw materials.
The journey from residue to resource involves not only processing technologies and new technical approaches, but also collaboration across the value chain, innovation, and knowledge sharing. These efforts aim to support the sector’s transition towards more circular models, where material valorisation and resource efficiency play a central role.
