The highlights and innovations at ceramitec: Focus on ceramics in modern industrial applications
January 19, 2026
Ceramics are among the key materials for many industrial sectors and are becoming increasingly important as technological requirements grow. From March 24 to 26, 2026, ceramitec in Munich will once again be the international meeting place for suppliers, users and decision-makers from industry, research and technology.
Strong participation and enhanced trade fair format
The signs are promising, as Maritta Lepp, Exhibition Director of ceramitec, explains: “We are delighted with the positive response and the continuing stream of registrations. We therefore expect ceramitec 2026 to attract at least the same number of exhibitors as in 2024.” More than 90 of them will be there for the first time. That underscores ceramitec’s status as the industry’s leading international trade fair.
It is also clear that the enhanced trade fair format with a shorter duration and shorter cycle takes account of the changed conditions in numerous branches of industry, in which innovation cycles are accelerating significantly. “The aim is to present developments in a compact way, while at the same time appealing to new exhibitor and visitor groups,” says Lepp. “The fact that both established companies and a host of new exhibitors support this concept confirms our approach and shows the high relevance of ceramitec.”
International reach
Delegations from Iraq, Kurdistan, Serbia, Algeria, Tunisia, Nigeria, India, Saudi Arabia, and Brazil are expected to attend next year’s fair. This broad geographical positioning underscores the importance of the event as a central platform for global exchange within the ceramics industry.
Exhibitions as showcases for ceramic applications
In addition to the international presence, premieres and special shows in particular will emphasize key features and offer special insights into current industry developments: The “Ceramic Components: Hidden Champions in Industry and Everyday Life” exhibition will be shown for the first time in the East Entrance. Selected exhibits will illustrate where ceramic components are used and why they are considered invisible but indispensable performance drivers in industry and everyday life.
The “Heavy Clay Experience” exhibition by the ECTS association in Hall A4 is also new. Numerous member companies will present current innovations and technological developments in heavy clay ceramics there and provide insights into products, manufacturing processes and future solutions.
Leading suppliers, and returning and new exhibitors
The diversity of the topics exhibited is also reflected in the range of companies represented: International market leaders, established returning and new exhibitors will present their ceramic solutions, technologies and innovations, thus underscoring the innovative strength and importance of the industry. Exhibitors include Carborundum Universal Limited Industrial Ceramics Division (CUMI), Imerys, Zschimmer & Schwarz, Morgan Advanced Materials, Sibelco, Saint-Gobain, Maschinenfabrik Gustav Eirich, SACMI, Schunk Ingenieurkeramik, Steuler-KCH, Refratechnik, Equipceramic, and Keramischer Ofenbau. Prominent returning exhibitors such as Carbolite Gero, Honeywell, Iwatani Corporation, Rieter Morando, and XJET will add a further boost to the exhibitor portfolio. There will also be joint stands from China and Hungary, as well as Ceramic Applications, the Pôle européen de la Céramique and, for the first time, the DKG. In addition to Europe, the increase in new exhibitors is in particular from Japan, Singapore, the USA and India.
